Who we are

SolrScan ("we," "us," or "our") operates solrscan.com, a solar roof analysis tool that lets anyone scan a property address and receive an instant estimate of its solar potential. We do not require account creation or login to use the site.

What information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.

• Property address. The address you enter is passed to the Google Solar API to generate your roof analysis. We do not store it in our own database.
• Email address. If you purchase a full report, your email is collected by Stripe during checkout and used solely to send you your report link.
• Payment information. All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your card details.
• Usage data. We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous information about how visitors use the site, including pages visited, time on site, and general location (country or region). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

How we use your information

• To generate your solar roof analysis via the Google Solar API.
• To deliver your report link to your email address after a successful purchase.
• To verify your access to a purchased report using your Stripe payment record.
• To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your information for advertising or marketing. We do not share your information with any third party except as described in this policy.

Third-party services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate:

• Google Solar API and Google Maps. Your property address is processed by Google to generate the solar analysis. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• Stripe. Stripe handles all payment processing and retains transaction records. Their handling of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Email delivery. We use a private email server to send your report delivery email. Your email address is used only to send this transactional message.

Data storage and retention

We do not operate a user database. We do not store your address, email, or personal details on our own servers. The only record of your transaction exists within Stripe's platform, which retains payment records in accordance with their own data retention policy and applicable law. Your report link remains accessible for as long as Stripe retains your payment session.

California residents — CCPA rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• The right to know what personal information has been collected about you.
• The right to request deletion of your personal information.
• The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information.
• The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

Users in the European Union

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you. Because we do not maintain our own user database, any data held about you exists within Stripe or Google's systems. You may direct data access or erasure requests to those services directly, or contact us at info@solrscan.com and we will assist where possible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
